Governance & strategy
The Board of Directors has established a Sustainability Committee, responsible for setting short and long-term targets, reviewing performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance (including UK-specific legislation, such as the Climate Change Act and future net-zero mandates).
Carbon Emissions Targets: Yolk is committed to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 45% by 2030 (from a 2020 baseline) and achieving net-zero emissions across operations by 2040.
Alignment with Global Standards: We follow the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for emissions accounting and report under the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to ensure transparency.
Environmental footprint
Fleet Efficiency and Alternative Fuel Vehicles
Electric and Hybrid Vehicles: Expansion of low-emission vehicle fleets.
Fuel-Efficient Driver Training: All drivers undergo annual training in eco-driving techniques (e.g. avoiding idling, smooth acceleration, route optimization) to reduce fuel consumption.
Fleet Renewal Program: Vehicles older than five years are systematically replaced with Euro 6-certified or cleaner models to ensure compliance with Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ).
